The Lead Mechanic is a hands-on working leader responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on facility and production equipment, while also providing direction and guidance to the maintenance team. The Lead Mechanic ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations through both technical expertise and leadership, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED required
Training, Skills, Licenses: Excellent knowledge of the principles of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Working knowledge of PLC's, VFD's, and other automation equipment. 3 years multi-skill maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. 4 years automated production experience in lead role. Experience working at temperature-controlled facility. Preferred experience with produce scales, conveyors, pumps, spin dryers, cutting equipment, hoppers, sealers and air compressors. Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical fundamentals and applications. Proficient computer skills required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
